Augusta Ida (Nunemacher) Verthein, 93 of Altura, died Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Lewiston Senior Living. She was born on May 19, 1926 to August and Viola (Papenfus) Nunemacher. Augusta grew up in Hokah and graduated from Houston High School. She married Kermit Verthein on October 16, 1945. Each of her family members will cherish the handmade items gifted to them. She always took care of her family, she baked and cooked treats for them and many others, and she never forgot a birthday.
