Zackary Wayne Ford

Zackary Wayne Ford, 43, of Winona, MN passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident Monday, July 13th, 2026.

Zack was born November 26th, 1982 in Winona, MN to Jerry Ford and Lisa (Burreson) Peterson. Zack grew up south of St. Charles, MN on a farm. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 2001 followed by attending Southeast Technical College, receiving degrees in Process Maintenance Control and Specialized Automation Controls.

Zack had many hobbies including a passion for motorcycles, a life long love of the Twins and Vikings, fishing, horticulture, camping, horses, frisbee golf, and the great outdoors. He held a variety of jobs over the years. Early on he worked in nursing homes as a CNA and TMA, he loved caring for people and learning about their lives. Most recently he worked at Geotek as a Controls Specialist.

He loved adventures by car or motorcycle with his family, friends or just him and his best friend & dog, Tucker. Zack made a trailer to pull behind his motorcycle so that Tucker could be included on motorcycle rides.

Zack had many friends from all walks of life and tried to help whomever he could. Zack was a kind and caring person who wanted people to be happy, and see the good in themselves. When his sister, Regina, needed a kidney in 2009 he gave without a second thought. He was very proud that he saved his sister's life, and even prouder his gift allowed Regina to have kids; his nephew and niece. As a nod to Zack's sacrifice, his nephew was named after him, sharing the middle name of Wayne.

Zack had a one of a kind laugh, goofy personality, infectious smile, and was a student of the universe. Our world is dimmer without his humorous spirit and empathic nature.

Zack leaves behind his father, Jerry Ford; mother, Lisa Peterson; brother, Jeremy (Keziah) Ford, sister, Regina Ford (Ross Wobig); nephews and nieces; Tristen Williams & Jadzia Ford, and Rayland & Remlee Wobig. As well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Zack was proceeded in death by his grandparents, John & Lilla Ford and Donald & Betty Burreson; and aunt Audrey Johnson.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles, MN at 3pm. Funeral Celebrant, Dianne Rislow will officiate the service. A Celebration of Life will continue at "The Garage" in St. Charles, MN from 4pm to 7pm. In honor of Zack's love of sports, feel free to wear your favorite sports team shirt or jersey to the Celebration of Life.
