January 8, 2024, Tye James Hemmelman 46, from Winona left us suddenly to be with his son Tucker, in heaven. After graduating from Winona Senior High School and Dakota County Tech he started his career at Ledebuhr Meats where he was a meat cutter and a sausage maker for 22 years. On October 23, 1999, he married his sweetheart Katie (Eide) and made their home in Wilson. He was currently employed at Mississippi Welders. Tye was a very active volunteer in his community with Wilson Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department for 20 years. He gave many hours at the Winona Sportsman Club, teaching gun safety and shooting techniques with youth trap shooting and fundraising efforts. Tye played a strong role in establishing the High School Trap Team. Tye loved many outdoor activities that he shared with his two sons.
Tye is survived by his wife, Katie (Eide); and son, Conner; father David (Joni) Hemmelman; mother, Sherry Holzer (Randy Stoddard); sister, Dodi (Jared) Daffinson; step brother and sister, Jay (Beth) Styba and Jennifer (Teej Thaldorf) Styba; nephew, Mathew (Brandon) Sadowski; niece, Alison Styba; and the Eide family - Everett, Kathy, Justin, Lisa, Caroline, William, George Eide and Amy, Jeremy, Spencer, Alexis, and Dylan Schossow.
Preceded in death by his son Tucker, and grandparents.
