Thouang Louprasong

Thouang Louprasong, 87, of St. Charles, MN passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon surrounded by her loved ones at her daughter's home in St. Charles where she was residing. She passed 4 days shy of her 88th birthday.

She was born on April 20, 1938, in Bahn Yang Kham, Laos. She and Xou Louprasong were married in 1957. In 1975, she and her family fled Laos due to the Vietnam War to the refugee camp in Ubon, Thailand. In 1979, the entire family of 12 immigrated to the United States and settled in St. Charles on November 16, 1979. In 1982, she moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where she worked at Lamb Weston, Inc. She returned to St. Charles in 1990 and ultimately retired from North Star Foods in St. Charles.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Xou Louprasong, eldest son, Vixay Louprasong, her parents, father, Sypheng and mother, Souy, and 5 other younger brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Samone (Souksakone) Phetsomphou, of St. Charles, MN. Daughter, Samay Louprasong (Daniel Mendoza) of Peoria,IL. Daughter, Sommay (Mark) Mermond of Sioux Falls, SD. Son, Bounlay (Daeng) Louprasong of Pocatello, ID. Daughter, Bouakhay (Vongsack) Phouphommachack of St. Charles, MN. Daughter, Savay (Steve) Behrens of Byron, MN. Daughter, Saveng Smith of Austin, TX. Son, Lathanikone (Amber) Louprasong, and son, Pativath (Taylor) Louprasong of Huber Heights, OH. Brother, Bounkwang Keosouphan, Brother, Keua.

She is also survived by grandchildren (19) and great-grandchildren (10), who will carry on her legacy of love and compassion.

Funeral Services for Thouang will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
