Thomas Arlin Badker, 82 of Dover, died Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the Minnesota State Veterans Home in Preston.
Tom was born August 9, 1942 in Mason City, IA to Kenneth and Lee Badker. He graduated from Mason City High School and attended Mason City Junior College. Tom served in the United States Navy on the Flagship USS Providence. On March 18, 1967, Tom married Mary Kay “Mickey” Allstot.
Tom began his career in painting at Ray Wenrick Painting in Mason City before joining the team at Ted Reiple Painting and Decorating where he spent most of his career remodeling and painting at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Tom was a member of the Rochester American Legion WM T. McCoy Post 92 and the Painters Union Local 681. He was very talented when it came to painting and handywork, often helping with remodels and using his craftsmanship skills in various ways. Tom enjoyed puzzles, reading, cribbage, jokes and watching Westerns and Turner Classic Movies.
He is survived by his wife, Mickey; son, Troy (Denise) Badker; grandchildren, Nicole (Matthew) McKeown, Ben (Erin) Badker, Blake Badker (Daina Clemmensen) and Jacob Asher (Kylie Fink); great-grandchildren, Willa Grace Asher and Bryson Matthew Badker; son-in-law, Eric (Julie) Asher and many other relatives and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Asher; two grandsons, Matthew & Lucas Asher; his parents; brothers, Richard & Jay and sisters, Jean & Karen.
Memorial Service will be 1 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2025 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service – St. Charles. Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Dover. Memorials are preferred to Evergreen Cemetery.
