Susan Pass

Minneapolis, MNSusan M. Pass, 48, died Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Susan was born February 23, 1954 in Rushford, MN to Wallace and LaVaughn (Highum) Helleland. Susan graduated from Rushford High School in 1972 and then received her RN from the nursing program at Rochester Community College. She moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Regions Hospital. On October 15, 1977 she married Michael Pass in Rushford, MN and they made their home in Peach Tree City, Georgia. They were later divorced. Susan battled with MS since her diagnosis in 1978. Susan was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She will be remembered for great sense of humor, how she loved to decorate her house, being a big sports fan, especially following the Atlanta Braves and her ability to make close friends wherever she was. Survivors include her mother, LaVaughn Helleland of Rushford, MN; grandmother, Ethel Highum of Rushford; siblings, Leon Helleland of Rushford, Diane (Don) McCaul of Scottsdale, AZ, Pat (Roy) Feine of Blaine, MN, Judy (Pete) Julsrud of Glendale, AZ and LuAnn (Brian) Bussler of Chandler, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace, sister-in-law, Cheryl Helleland and grand nieces, Jamie and Madeline. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at 1:30pm at Rushford Lutheran Church in Rushford, MN with the Reverend David Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes – Rushford Chapel on Monday from 5-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
