Steve Hanson

Steve Hanson, 64, of St. Charles died peacefully Friday, August 30, 2019 with his wife of 45 years Jeannette by his side while in short term hospice care.
Loving father of Shelly (Joshua) Johnson of Erie, CO and Crystal (Brian) Lowrie of St. Charles.
Proud grandfather of Ethan and Gavin Johnson.
Beloved brother of Sheryl Finley of St. Charles, Darwin (Charlene) Hanson of Westby, WI, Dean (Mary) Hanson of San Miguel, Mexico, Kimberly (Larry) Vogen of Winona and Scott Hanson of Plainview. Brother-in-law to Ken Haley of Wabasha and sister-in-law Ann Hanson of Apple Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Beba (Elliot) Hanson, a brother, Darrel Hanson and a sister Kris Haley.
Steve is remembered by family and friends as a loving father, grandfather and husband. He was a hardworking man who hauled large equipment for various companies, until his retirement in May of 2018. He was volunteer in his community for over 42 years, serving on St. Charles Police Department, St. Charles Ambulance Service and St. Charles Fire Department where he retired after 33 years of service.
Steve enjoyed his time on the open road, vacations, and social time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
A Celebration of Steve's life will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, led by funeral celebrant, Dianne Rislow. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
