Sheila Carol (Ostrander) Fluegel

Sheila Carol Fluegel, age 75, of Chatfield, MN passed away peacefully in her home on February 26, 2022.

Sheila Carol Ostrander was born in Jarrett, MN on August 6, 1946, to Elmer and Carol Ostrander.

Sheila attended Elgin-Millville School where she graduated in 1964.

On September 15, 1964, she married Earl Fluegel and during their years of marriage the couple had three children Kaye, Laura and Jason.

Over the years Sheila held several different jobs.  Her most loved of them were the positions where children were in her life.  Many of her daycare kids still call her Mama Sheila.  After she retired from the 9-5 world she became “head cook and bottle washer” for the Chatfield Schools, combing her love of cooking with her love of children. She was the family historian who could remember even the slightest connection to a person. She loved generously and was well loved.

She will forever be remembered as Grandma Soup by her grandchildren and Grandma Great by her great grandchildren.

Sheila is survived by Claude Earl Fluegel, Kaye L. Unnasch, Laura (Myril) Copeman and Jason (Tammy) Fluegel.

Her four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life will be on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 12-7p.m. at Sheila’s home.  She wanted us to celebrate her life not mourn her passing.
