Sharon Anderson

Rochester

Sharon Kaye Anderson, 79, who lived most of her life in St. Charles, Minnesota, passed away on September 27, 2026, at Madonna Towers in Rochester, Minnesota. Sharon was born to Leonard and Ethel (Turner) Anderson on August 15,1947 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Sharon lived her life as a faithful servant of God, sharing her gifts, her time, and her love with so many people throughout her life.

Sharon graduated from St. Charles High School in 1965 before attending the University of Minnesota. She graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy dedicating many years of her life to caring for others as a physical therapist at the Mayo Clinic. She remained a devoted Gopher and Minnesota Vikings football fan, always enjoying the excitement of cheering on her favorite teams.

Outside of her career, she had a love for traveling the world, experiencing different cultures, and always learning something new. Music was one of Sharon’s greatest gifts, and she used it to bring joy to others. For many years, she volunteered at Ability Building Center, sharing the gift of music with those working there. Sharon sang tenor in the Chorale Arts Ensemble in Rochester for many years. She played the organ and piano at her hometown church in St. Charles and taught piano lessons from her home, carrying on a beautiful tradition started by her mother.

But perhaps what meant the most to Sharon was family. She loved watching her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews do the things they loved—whether it was sports, dance, theater, band, choir, or anything else they were involved in. She was always there, proudly cheering them on. And if you knew Sharon, you know how much she loved her pictures! She could spend hours reminiscing through family photos, sharing memories and proudly telling others about the people she loved. She was incredibly proud of her brothers and sister and of the families and lives they built.

Our hearts hurt knowing she is no longer here with us, and she will be greatly missed. But we find comfort knowing that she is no longer uncomfortable and has been reunited with her mom and dad in Heaven. We can only imagine the beautiful reunion they are having—and we know they will be watching over all of us together.

Sharon is survived by her siblings: Jan (Dan) Swanson, Jim Anderson and Brad (Darby) Anderson and her nieces and nephews: Erik Swanson, Britt Morgan, Ben Anderson, Jeff Anderson, Kristin Cox, Mike French, Wade Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Luke Anderson, Erika Valenzuela and Kerri Weber. She has many great nieces and nephews as well.

Sharon was proceeded in death by her parents Leonard and Ethel Anderson.

Rest peacefully, Sharon. Your music may have stopped here on Earth, but the love, joy, and memories you gave us will continue to play on in our hearts. Until we meet again.

The funeral will be October 17, 2026, at St. Charles United Methodist Church at 11:00am. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral.
