Sally Mueller

Sally Ann Mueller, 67, of Winona, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 16, 2026. She was born on July 27, 1959 to adoptive parents Leo (Barney) and Sarah Freese in Lake City, MN. She graduated in 1977 from Lincoln High School in Lake City, MN.

On September 24, 1989, Sally married Dennis Mueller at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winona.

In her earlier years, Sally worked at the Black Horse, Mathy Construction, the Eagles Club, Ed’s 500 Club, and most recently, helping out at Bass Camp when she could.

Sally was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend who treasured her family above all else, especially the time spent with her grandchildren (Avery & Kynzley) creating lasting memories. She loved her dog, Cooper, who brought her companionship, comfort, and joy. She valued her friendships and especially enjoyed gathering with her special friends to play pool and share laughter. Sally loved the outdoors, especially fishing with her favorite pink lures and a tackle box that had every fishing lure/gadget imaginable! Cooking, canning and preserving what she grew was also a passion along with her garden flowers.

Above all, she loved her husband, Dennis, and the bond they shared was central to her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her laughter, kindness and love will remain in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her son Leonard (Colleen) of Winona; siblings, Pat (Katie) Freese of Coon Rapids, MN, Bill Freese (Sue Mansur) of Apple Valley, MN; parents-in-law, Everett and Shirley Mueller; sisters-in-law, Nancee (Buzz) Kukowski, Jolene (Mike) Bundy; 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Kay Johnson; brother-in-law’s, Jim Mueller and Steve Kukowski.

A Celebration of Life Service for Sally is being planned and details will be announced when available.
