Ronald Eugene Holden

Ronald Eugene Holden, 79 of Winona and formerly of Davenport, IA, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 28, 1942 in Davenport to Clarence and Miriam (Wallace) Holden. After graduating from high school Ronald enlisted in the United States Navy. On December 12, 1964 he married Eileen Holman and together had two children. They made their home in Davenport before moving to Winona in 1989. Ronald worked for Fairbanks Scales and retired in 2003.
Ronald enjoyed reading, fishing in his younger years, and boating on the river. Ronald enjoyed working in his yard and was an avid gardener. He was a hardworking, selfless man, who loved his family.
He is survived by his children, Kimberlee (Mike) Gillespie and Jeff Holden; grandchildren, Alexis Patterson, and Bailey and Nate Gillespie; brother, Steven Holden; several nephews; and his beloved dog, Madeline.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Eileen.
Memorials may be directed to the Winona Area Humane Society.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview.
