Trempealeau, WIRoger D. Wessel, 65, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at his home inTrempealeau, WI. Roger was born July 7, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Edwin W. andEleanor D. (Reimer) Wessel. Roger served in the U. S. Naval Reserves from1955 to 1963. He married Joyce Plociennik in Evanston, IL and they werelater divorced. Roger married Linda Bach on December 10, 1983 in LakeZurich, IL. Roger was the Deputy Chief of Paramedics in Lake Zurich wherehe wasalso the Chief of Security for the school system and on the Police Reserves. Roger worked for Westfalia Surge in Oak Brook,IL as a Purchasing Manager.During that time, he served as Chief of Police in Kildeer,IL for 11 years.He was transferredto the Galesville branch of Westfalia Surge from which he retired inSeptember 1991. He had been living in the Galesville area for the past 16 years and forawhile owned andoperated the POW WOW Campground. After his retirement Roger became anAccount Executive at Winona Radio where he had been working until his death. Roger was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ inFountain City, WI. Roger was also a member of the Galesville Lion's Cluband served as the Committee Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 61inGalesville, WI.Survivors include his wife, Linda; four daughters, Lynn (Carl) Pepper ofTrevor, WI, Lee (Tom) Carpenter of Trempealeau, WI, Cindy Hoover ofHarvard, IL and Jennifer (Keven) Keeler of Galesville, WI; son, EdwinWilliam Wessel II (Austin Carino) of Trempealeau, WI; and ninegrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter,Denise.Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at 11:00am at St.John's United Church of Christ in Fountain City, WI with the Rev. FrederickWest officiating. Burial will be in Windridge Cemetery in Cary, IL.Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes - Burke Winona Chapel on Monday from4-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
