Robert Alvin Nisbit, 89 of St. Charles died Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the St. Charles Assisted Living, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born November 25, 1933 in Winona to Alvin and Henrietta (Sweningson) Nisbit.  He attended school in St. Charles through the 9th grade until his help was needed on the family farm.  Bob served in the United States Army from 1956-1958.   On July 30, 1960, he married Beverly Christenson Mundell.

Throughout the years Bob drove truck for Bob Nessler Grain Service, managed the St. Charles Municipal Liquor Store, and drove truck for Wilson Refrigerated until his retirement.

Bob was a member of the St. Charles Moose Lodge where he served as past Governor, Legion of the Moose, American Legion and the VFW.  He was very active within the community and could often be found enjoying coffee at Del's, playing cards at the Moose or on the golf course.

Besides golfing, Bob also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, boating and traveling, especially to Vegas.  In his younger years, he enjoyed showing cattle with his dad at many state fairs.

Bob’s family was his biggest pride and joy.  He loved going to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school events and being active in their lives.

He is survived by his wife, Bev; three children, Rodney (Bonnie) Mundell, Rhonda (Roger) Thomann and Ronald (Amy) Nisbit; grandchildren, Lindsey (Martin) Pettit, Frank Mundell, Jeff (Liz) Thomann, Tara (Regan) McConnell and Carter Nisbit; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn & Brooklyn Pettit, Kallie & Cordell Thomann and McCoy and McKinnely McConnell; two sisters, Marilyn Harcey and Darlene Trolliet; and a sister-in-law, Sue Lyngaas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Harold Nisbit, Alice Dabelstein, Donald Nisbit and Carol Glover.

Bob’s family would like to thank St. Charles Assisted Living, Mayo Clinic and Mayo Hospice for all their loving care they gave Bob over the last few months.
