Rebecca R. "Becky" Holtegaard

Rebecca “Becky” Holtegaard, age 73, of Dover, died Friday, September 8, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN, following a short illness.

Rebecca was born August 19, 1950, in Owatonna, MN, the daughter, Earl and LaDonna (Johnson) Scherger. She attended and graduated from Elgin School. Becky was a caregiver her whole life, whether to family and friends, or through her career as a CNA, or teacher's aid. She was also a cow-milker, housekeeper, and did daycare for her great-granddaughter. Becky loved listening to country music, and her favorite was George Strait. She enjoyed crocheting, four-wheeling, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by husband, Arvin of Dover; daughter, Amber (Lucas) Mark of Falcon Heights; granddaughter, Ashley (Ben) Roth of St. Charles; great-granddaughter, Evie; siblings: Debbie (Rod) Hart of Viola, Dale (Stacie) Scherger of Chatfield, Sandy (Brian) Ihrke of Eyota; sister-in-law:  LaLoni (Allan) Thompson; brother-in-law, Jerry (Tammy) Holtegaard of Dover; and many nieces and nephews.

Becky is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Holzer; her parents; brother, John Scherger, and sister, Cheryl Holtegaard.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 15, 2023, at 12:30pm at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles led by Funeral Celebrant Dianne Rislow. Visitation will be Friday from 10am - 12:30pm. Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery.
