Orvis Finseth, of Rochester/Chatfield passed away at The Homestead of Rochester on September 9, 2025.
A Celebration of Orvis' life will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Root Prairie Lutheran Church in Fountain with Pastor Nissa Peterson officiating.
A time of visitation will held at the church one hour prior to services,
Burial will be in the parish cemetery with full military rites.
Orvis was born on June 18, 1929, in Fountain to Justin and Ida (Skrukrud) Finseth. He attended the Barness Country School. He entered the United States Army at the age of 18 and served his country during the Korean War. He was injured in June of 1951 and returned home after three years of service.
Orvis worked as a mechanic and service manager for most of his life. Upon his retirement he drove school bus and mowed for the Chatfield Cemetery. He lived in Fountain, Rochester and Byron.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and time with his family. He loved to dance as well. He enjoyed gardening, rivers and the scenery of the places he lived.
Orvis is survived by his sons Jim (Kathy) Finseth and Wayne (Onalee) Finseth, grandchildren Gabe, Cale, Desiree, Lillian, Aurelia and Iris. He is further survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Estella, his four sisters. five brothers and his oldest son Jeffrey.
