O’Donna Haugstad, 95, of rural Lanesboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Good Shepherd Care Center, in Rushford, one day past her 95th birthday.
O’Donna Marie Wahl was born October 13, 1928, in Rochester, to Earl and Margert (Hansen) Wahl. She married Elmer W. Haugstad on June 26, 1954, at Grace Lutheran Church, in Rochester. O’Donna enjoyed traveling south in the winter with Elmer for many, many years in their motor home and going to antique shops looking for Pixies. She rarely missed going to the Gold Rush Days each year. She was a meticulous bookkeeper for their home, farm and Haugstad Construction. When the apple trees produced, she would make sure the apples got picked and made applesauce, which her and Elmer ate daily. She enjoyed feeding the birds and watching them from her kitchen window.
O’Donna is survived by her son, Tom (Deb) Haugstad and their children; Heather with daughter, Emerson, James, Jeff (Erica) with their children; Brock, Mallory, Lauren, Maggie; One daughter Dody (Erv) House their son, Matt (Shannon) with their sons; Kaleb, Kolton, and Kolin; One sister Earlene (Wayne) Laursen and their daughter Jody (Paul) Sperduto with their children: Luke, Maria, William; half-sister Maggie Jeff) Hardy. She is preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws; husband, Elmer; nephew, Micheal Laursen.
Funeral for O’Donna will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the Pilot mound Lutheran Cemetery.
