Norma Haack

Elba,     Norma H. Haack, 85, of Elba died Monday may 26th at Lake Winona Manor.     Norma was born January 14, 1918 in Altura to Edward and Hattie (Stoos) Brown. She and Harry H. Haack were married November 15, 1939 in Altura. The couple farmed near Altura until 1967. Then moving in to Elba where they owned and operated Tower House restaurant for a short time.      Norma was a homemaker and had been a beautician. She was a 4-H leader and founder of the Altura Skyrockets. Norma was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles. She enjoyed horseback riding and was a member of Winona Valley Riders. Harry died in November of 2000.     Survivors include three children, Becky (Don) Prebe; Bonnie Ward (Bernie Scherbring); and Terry (Pat) Haack all of Elba, nine grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a sister Rhoda (Bob) Kalmes of St. Charles.      Funeral Services will be 1 PM Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Elba. Friends may call at St. Matthew Lutheran Church from 5-8 PM Wednesday and one hour before services Thursday.     Hoff Funeral Home’s – St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
