Lewiston, MN Mildred E. Martin, 88, of Lewiston died Sunday December 7, 2003 at the Speltz Home in Lewiston. Mildred was born September 12, 1915 in Bloomington, IL to John and Edith (Pietch) Seaman. She and Carl Martin were married May 12, 1940 at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria, IL. Mildred worked for Cohen Furniture Company in Peoria for 20 years. Carl died May 6, 1967. She moved to Lewiston in 1986. In Peoria she was a member of First English Lutheran Church, since moving to Lewiston she was a member of St. Paul's Church. Mildred volunteered at Lewiston Elementary School and Land Stewardship. At church she was involved in choir and Bible study. She enjoyed traveling the Unied States with her brother, her sister-in-law and close friend Betty Russeff. Mildred enjoyed vacationing with her sons and families at their northern Minnesota lake home. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, playing piano and music. Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Moira) Martin of Lewiston and Gary (Marti) Martin of Essex, IA, six grandchildren; Doug, Dan, Heather, Tim, Greg and Paul, three great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Eleanor Seaman. A brother John Willis Seaman preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday at St. Paul's Church in Lewiston with the Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will be 2:30 PM Friday at Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria, IL. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until time of services Thursday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church. Hoff Funeral Home's ? Lewiston Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
