Stockton

August 22, 1956 – December 12, 2023

Marilyn Lee Bronk, age 67, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born in Winona, MN, to Harold and Marcella (Kropilowski) Pearson, Marilyn was a beacon of strength, faith, and courage throughout her life.

On April 30, 1976, Marilyn went on to marry her soulmate, David Bronk, and together they navigated life’s joys and challenges. Her resilience shone brightly through her 13-year battle with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Marilyn’s unwavering faith in Jesus Christ fortified her spirit, and she became an inspiration to many others. She would give out little turtles or stones inscribed with inspirational words like “believe” or “faith” which became a symbol of hope and encouragement, reflecting her belief that no one should face their battles alone.

Marilyn’s life mantra, “Either way you look at this, I will win, by defeating this cancer or going home to Heaven.” Exemplified her extraordinary outlook on life and her battle. She gracefully carried her burden, always surrendering her struggles to God and lifting her hands in love and reverence for Christ, even in her final days.

A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Marilyn’s absence leaves a profound void. She is survived by her devoted husband, David; her children, Derrick (Kristy) Bronk, Dana (Luke) Stockhausen, and Trevor (Holly) Bronk; her adored grandchildren, Sheldon Stockhausen, Kevin Bronk, and Aaron Bronk; step-granddaughter, Maddi (Camden) Ryan; her sisters, Jean (Wayne) Nielsen and Sharon Kanz; her sister-in-law, Carole Pearson; and her father-in-law, Joseph Bronk.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marcella Pearson; stepmother Mildred, her brothers, Wayne, Danny, and Robert Pearson; and her mother-in-law, Gloria Bronk.

Her family, though heartbroken by their loss, finds solace in knowing Marilyn is now in the presence of the Almighty, free from pain, her courageous battle concluded.

As we remember Marilyn, we celebrate the legacy of hope, faith, and love she leaves behind—a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
