Margaret Anderson

On February 17th Margaret Doloris (Gaustad) Anderson made her transition to Heaven while at Valley View Healthcare in Houston. Within three weeks she suffered a stroke which was followed by the onset of COVID 19.

Margaret was born on March 24th 1930, to Peter and Senell (Gundersen) Gaustad. In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart Robert Anderson. They   celebrated 56 years of marriage together along with 2 children (Jenell “Jill” and Peter).

After attending country schools in Mound Prairie and Twin Ridge she graduated from Houston High School in 1948. Upon graduating she attended college at Miss Woods Academy (Twin Cities) and Winona State University graduating with a degree in elementary education.

Before retiring in 1980, Margaret’s tenure as an elementary educator had taken her from Kenyon, Mn to Rushford and Houston.

Outside of the love of her family and her professional career Margaret dedicated her time as a women’s leader at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and the Township Board of Houston. As a talented quilting artist and teacher she introduced many into the world of quilting.
