Luann Mary Beeman

July 22, 1944 — September 25, 2025

Luann Mary Beeman, 81, of Minnesota City, passed away at home on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

She was born on July 22, 1944, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to Peter and Ella Mae (Weed) Russeau. Later, she moved to Winona, Minnesota, where she and the love of her life, Leroy “Ted” Beeman, built a beautiful life together. Married on February 20, 1965, they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage; a bond filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Luann had a generous heart and a joyful spirit. She loved cooking, and her family will always remember the meals she prepared with so much care. She had a sharp wit, a love for telling jokes, and a fondness for Elvis Presley’s music. Bingo was another of her favorite pastimes, bringing her joy whenever she had the chance to play.

She carried a deep pride in her Ojibwe roots, and often shared stories of her family history, making sure her children and grandchildren knew where they came from. Honoring that heritage was important to her, and she instilled in her family a respect for the traditions, strength, and resilience that shaped their lives.

Over the years, Luann worked in restaurants and as a taxi driver, but she especially cherished her time at Shorty’s Restaurant. She became a favorite among coworkers and customers alike, remembered for her kindness, humor, and strong work ethic.

Her greatest pride, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma who loved without conditions. Her two sons and seven grandchildren were the lights of her life, and her joy only grew with the arrival of her nine great-grandchildren.

Luann is survived by her beloved husband, Ted; her sons, Rollie of Winona and Derek (Jackie) of Houston; her grandchildren, Hailey, Angie, Shelby, Amber, Emily, Austin, and Jordon Beeman; and her great-grandchildren, Bodhi, Tyson, Chloee, Sophia, Ellowen, Isaac, Evelyn, Braxton, Ryder, and Oaklynn. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Sherry) Russeau, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Darell (Marcia) Russeau; and her sister, Charlene (Tom) Bowman.

Luann will be remembered for her big heart, her laughter, her cooking, and above all, the love she poured into her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, generosity and a family who will miss her deeply, but carry her spirit and stories with them always.
