On August 22, 2020, Lorraine was called home to her maker. She passed on surrounded by her family.
Lorraine F. Bonine was born December 10, 1927, to Louis and Leona (Majerus) Wegman in Winona County. She was raised near Dover on the family farm. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1947 and attended Secretarial School. On May 12, 1948, Lorraine married Raymond Bonine and together they raised 5 children. They lived in Goodview and later moved to Rollingstone.
Lorraine's career consisted of working for Mayo Clinic, Lake Center Switch, Winona Ready Mix and Excavation and retiring from Winona Lighting Studio. She was a member of Rollingstone Holy Trininty Church. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in the back yard, gardening, quilting and needlepoint, walking and baking sweets. She still participated in the Goodview Gallop with her daughter until her early 80's. Her family was most important to her.
Lorraine is survived by her five children: Darlene (Patrick) Lee of New Brighton, Elizabeth (Michael) Bronk of Vadnais Heights, Raymond (Karen) Bonine of Andover, Kelly (Kevin) Passehl and Kristi Bonine, both of Rollingstone. She has 14 grandchildren: Shannon (Paul), Brian (Shannon), Aaron (Amanda), Rachel (JR), Stephanie (Tony), Jessica, Andrea (Christian), Christine, Jennifer (Chris), Abby (Nick), Jackie (Nick), Crystal (Bill), Cheyenne (Ben) and Craig (Alyssa). She also had 16 great grandchildren: Ben, Brittney, Amelia, JP, Marley, Michael, Sam, Caden, Ronan, Grace, Grayson, Jackson, Isabelle, Landon, Brynlee and Cora.
Siblings include: Leora, Florence, Rosemary, Jeanie, Marvin and Donny and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant brother, her brother, Bernard and two sisters Margie and Dorothy. As well as her great granddaughter, Ashlyn.
The family would like to take this time to thank her personal care givers Shayla Falls and Taylor Fulton.
There will be a private family funeral Mass for Lorraine at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday also at the church. Please follow social distancing guidelines and please wear a mask.
