Lois Schuchard

Lois C. Schuchard, 101 of St. Charles, entered the presence of her Savior on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Whitewater Health Services.
Lois was born September 6, 1917 in Saratoga to Harry and Katherine (Frisby) Cox. She attended Saratoga Country School and St. Charles High School. In 1935, Lois married Kenneth Burdick and they were later divorced. On September 5, 1948, she married the love of her life, Walter Schuchard. Lois worked many local jobs throughout the years - Dels Café (which was Ann's Café at the time), candeling eggs for Home Produce, Camera Art and was a cook at the nursing home that she eventually became a resident of. Lois was a charter member of St. Charles Bible Church and was active in all of their activities. She volunteered at Camp Victory and the Awanas (Youth Ministry) Program at her church.
She enjoyed playing Scrabble, quilting, Tri-Chem painting and reading. Lois loved to write poetry and told her life through her poems. She truly treasured time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Genevieve Caouette of Gulfport, MS, Ramona (Wayne) Freeman of Hurst, TX, Ella (Dick) Steffens of Maricopa, AZ, Chesnia (Neva) Burdick of Hagar City, WI and Janice (Allen) Timm of St. Charles; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1973; daughter, Doris Koenig; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Sebring (son of Steven) and Elizabeth Sebring (daughter of Jeff); and four brothers, Herb, Fran, Tom and Jim Cox.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the St. Charles Bible Church with the Reverend James Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - St. Charles and one hour prior to the service at church.
