Lester Gerald Prigge

Lester Gerald Prigge, 82, of Lewiston, MN died Friday November 20, 2020 at Winona Health. Lester was born November 26, 1937 on the family farm near Lewiston to Manuel and Frieda (Gensmer) Prigge. Lester learned the value of hard work from an early age helping out on family farms. As a young man he served in the national guard from 1963 to 1965. After which he returned and continued to farm throughout his life. He met Betty Jane Klingfus at the Playmore. The two of them fell deeply in love and were married October 30, 1965. They had two beautiful girls together, Cindy and Tina. Lester was a wonderful, loving Dad and a great example of patience and understanding. Lester enjoyed dancing, bowling, shooting pool and his cadillacs when he was not farming or taking care of his family. He was a compassionate man that was always willing to help someone in need.
He will be dearly missed by his daughters, "Cindy (Robert) Schlink, Tina (Larry) Jonsgaard; grandchildren, Scott (Kim) Schlink, Lisa (Tim) Faiella, Kyle (Holly) Schlink, Shawn (Ammy) Jonsgaard, Nicole (Lonnie) Jonsgaard, Ashley (Neil) Prigge, Shelby (Jordan) Brand, Jeremy (Ashley) Prigge; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; siblings, Joyce (Jerry) Erpelding, Earl (Judy) Prigge, Velda (Harold) Anderson and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents; sister, Violet; brothers, Kenny, Delmar; brother-in-law, Jerry Erpelding.
A public graveside service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery-Silo at 11:30 am, Thursday, December 10, 2020. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Cards may be sent to Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Attn: Prigge Family, 3480 Service Dr., Winona, MN 55987. The family would like to thank the staff, Dr. Hammel, and Dr. Parker for their compassion and excellent care of Lester.
