Lawrence "Larry" Bushman

Lawrence “Larry” Bushman, died on July 26, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on March 11, 1944, in Stewartville, MN, Larry was the proud son of Bernard and Inga Bushman. 

Larry grew up in Stewartville, MN and attended school in both Stewartville and Chatfield. He was united in marriage to Wilma Jeide on April 11, 1964, with whom he built a wonderful life and raised three wonderful children. Together, they shared countless memories, laughter, and adventures.

 In 1975, Larry and Wilma took a leap of faith, purchasing The Golden Horn in Utica, where they worked tirelessly, operating the restaurant until 2010. Larry’s love for cleanliness was legendary. He took great pride in ensuring everything was spotless. He had a passion for cooking, loved trying out spicy foods, and had a sweet tooth for desserts, especially cake. But more than that, Larry was a social butterfly. He thrived on conversation, often striking up chats with anyone he met, trying to make a connection. 

Larry dedicated 38 years of his life working at Crenlo in Rochester, where he became a well-known and respected figure among colleagues. Beyond work, he enjoyed adventures with family, whether it was going on bus trips, traveling, going on cruises, or soaking up the sun in Mexico. 

Larry will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Wilma; his children, Cheryl (Wayne) Ehlenfeldt, Randy (Julie) Bushman; 6 grandchildren, Amiee (Brandon) Nelson, Scott (Kari) Ehlenfeldt, Isaac Bushman, Nolan Bushman, Jamie (Anna) Bushman, Chris (Liz) Bushman; 9 great-grandchildren, Trevin, Braily, Deegan, Chet, James, Brooks, Noah, Myla, Aspen; brother, and Robert (Evelyn) Bushman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Bushman; twin brother, Loren Bushman, and brother, Carl Bushman.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles, MN from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am. Rev. Shawn Brooks will be officiating the service. Larry will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, MN.
