LaVonne J. “Boots” Majerus, 87, of St. Charles died Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. LaVonne and Wesley Majerus were married September 4, 1954 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

LaVonne worked at St. Charles IGA and Lewiston Rush Products.  Later, she attended Winona Vo- Tech where she earned her LPN certification in 1973.  She went on to work 17 years at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles and 10 years in the Olmsted Medical Center in St. Charles.

She was active in St. Charles Red Hat Ladies, the St. Charles Senior Citizens, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.  LaVonne was a member of several quilting clubs in St. Charles, Plainview, and Rochester. Quilting was a special hobby of LaVonne’s, gifting each of her grandchildren with a special quilt for high school graduation, and another for their weddings.  Many of her great-grandchildren also received baby quilts from LaVonne. LaVonne also enjoyed fishing, bowling, Moped riding, card playing, and sewing. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their school activities and sporting events.

LaVonne and Wesley were fortunate to travel to Alaska, Hawaii, Grand Canyon, and the east coast, prior to Wes’ death in 2009. She enjoyed the numerous Christenson and Majerus family reunions. Visiting with family both near and far was a summer event she helped organize on many occasions.

Survivors include her four children; Barbara (Daniel) Dalenberg, of Rochester, Dean (Kayone) Majerus, Jayne (Tim) Ask, and Gary (Michelle) Majerus all of St. Charles, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Bev (Bob) Nisbit and Sue Lyngaas, of St. Charles.  In addition to her husband, Wes, LaVonne was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Melvin Jr., and Jack.
