LaDonna Ellen Brenno, 90 of Minnesota City, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
LaDonna was born on June 27, 1936. She was raised in Rushford with her mom, Eunice (Jacobson) Henderson and her sister, Shirley and graduated from Rushford High School where she was a typist for the school paper, participated in speech, band, choir, FHA and was a student librarian. She went to Winona with a friend and went to secretarial school for a year.
On August 29, 1955, she married Lemont Brenno and they had five children. Throughout Lemont’s time in the service, they were able to do some traveling. LaDonna worked part time in school food service and being a housekeeper in hotels and nursing homes.
LaDonna enjoyed Lawrence Welk and Western movies. She had a sense of humor and enjoyed having company and times with her family. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids and treasured time spent with them. She enjoyed her flowers and watching the animals that came in her yard. LaDonna loved to visit her sister, Shirley and her husband, Ronnie and they had many great times together.
She is survived by four children, Dixie (John) Shea of Minnesota City, Barbara Kujak of Minnesota City, Sherry (Jeff) Bogenholm of White Bear Lake and Monty (Michelle) Brenno of Chisago City; 10 grandchildren, Mindy, Jenny, Jody, Michelle, Christina, Dan, Bethany, Matthew, Holly & Andi; 10 great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Rebecca, Justin, Damon, Marcus, Kaia, Skyler, Alexia, Reagan & Oakley, all that have fond memories with her. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley (Ronnie) Schwake
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemont; daughter, Roxanne; and son-in-law, Jerry Kujak.
We will miss our mom, but we enjoyed the time we had together to get to know her more and just be silly together. We will miss her lemon bars and scotcheroos. The time we had with her will be treasured by all who really knew her. She is at rest and knows we all loved her very much. We have our memories!
Memorial Service will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center – Goodview with the Reverend Michael Short officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest with Lemont and Roxanne and Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
