June Mabel (Solberg) Omodt, age 82, of Houston, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
She will always be remembered as a kind, gracious, and loving woman of God.
June was born on June 26, 1940, in Caledonia, MN, and grew up in Yucatan Valley, rural Houston. She attended Houston High School. Following high school she married the love of her life, Dale Omodt, on March 8, 1958. Together they purchased and resided on the farm in Perkins Valley, raising four children. They were married for 63 years. June was a devoted farm wife. She enjoyed cooking, gardening (weeds didn’t stand a chance), canning (best pickled beets and pickles), sewing and quilting. She welcomed everyone to the farm where her hospitality was second to none. June worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years. June loved spending time with her family. She cherished the birth of each grandchild and great-grandchild. She was always eager to celebrate and support her family at countless events; weddings, baptisms, graduations, music concerts, birthday parties, holidays, sporting events, hayrides and sand hill truck rides. She also enjoyed meeting the friends of her children and grandchildren, and showing them around the farm. These are times that will be cherished forever by many.
June was preceded in her death by her husband William Dale; son Steven Dale; parents Fred and Mabel Solberg; brothers Meryl, Glen, Bradley, Gene; sisters Helen, Shirley, Winifred, and Elizabeth. She is survived by her daughters Laurie (Dean) TeBrake, Janell Westerham (Victor Scharenbroch), Julie (Todd) Lundberg; grandchildren, Kristin (Bryan) Phelps, Ashley (Jason) Morehouse, Lindsey (John) Anderson, Lauren (Karl) Palmquist, Owen Westerham, Auna (Brian) Dempcy, Kate (Andrey Ammosov) West, William Lundberg, Hans (Emily) Lundberg, Heather (Cole) Thayer, Trevor (Kalley) Lundberg; great-grandchildren, Kailey Phelps, Zoey and Sofia Morehouse, Isaac and Nora Anderson, Elouise West, Alison Dempcy, Callum Thayer. June will also be missed dearly by her beloved dogs; Jack and Jerry. There will be a memorial service for June at 1:00 p.m. on March 25, at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Houston. Visitation Will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at the Stone Church Cemetery in Houston.
