Judith Stallknecht

Judith Louise Stallknecht, age 84, entered into the presence of her Savior on April 22, 2025. Born September 1, 1940, in Baudette, MN, to Carl and Louise Mary (Nesler) Stallknecht, Judy’s life was a testament to her steadfast Christian faith and loving spirit.

A graduate of Winona High School (1958), Hamline University (1962), and Winona State University (1968), Judy dedicated 41 years to teaching first grade at Lakeaires Elementary School in White Bear Lake, MN. Her gentle guidance and encouragement shaped the lives of generations of students.

After retiring in 2003, Judy returned to Winona to be near family. She found joy in church activities, Bible study, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and supporting her nieces, nephew, and their children. Judy was also known for her competitive streak in Nertz and her generosity to missionaries and organizations serving those in need.

Judy’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served faithfully in her church, teaching in the Pioneer Girls program at First Free Church in Maplewood for many years. Even after her cancer diagnosis in August 2024, Judy’s assurance in her salvation and trust in Jesus never wavered.

Judy is survived by her sister Andrea (Stallknecht) Reinert and brother-in-law Robert Reinert; nieces Carlyn (Reinert) Wilson, Robin (Reinert) Olsen, Mandy (Reinert) Swenson; and nephew Christian Reinert. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

We rejoice knowing Judy is now in heaven, free from pain, worshiping Jesus, and at perfect peace.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 4:30pm with visitation beginning at 4pm at Hoff Celebration of Life Center (3480 Service Dr. Winona, MN).
