John Putzier

St. Charles, John M. Putzier, 52, of St. Charles died Monday evening January 26th at Rochester Methodist Hospital. John was born December 28, 1951 in Winona to Ivan and Lorraine (Virnig) Putzier. He and Cindy Krick were married on July 21, 1979 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, they made their home in rural St. Charles. John graduated from St. Charles High School in 1971 and attended Winona Vo-Tech where he studied design engineering. Following Vo-Tech John worked for a short time at Trane Co. in LaCrosse.He then worked for the family business, Putzier Trucking and Grain, and later became a partner in the business with his brother. They hauled grain and farmed. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, biking, 4-wheeling and photography. Survivors include his wife Cindy, three children; John A. Putzier of England, Rebecca and Ellie Putzier both of St. Charles, five siblings; Jean (Don) Schmiedeberg of Rochester, Judith (Joe) Judy of Winona, Vincent (Wanetta) Putzier of St. Charles, Margaret Putzier (Jim) of Pflugerville, TX and Teresa (Tim) Lang of Blonco, TX. He is also survived by his pet Beagle Sadie. His parents preceded him in death. A Funeral Mass will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday and 8:30-9:30 AM Saturday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel. There will be a Rosary recited at 4:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
