Joan Schacht

Joan Theresa (Burbach) Schacht, age 83, of Winona, died Friday, January 16, 2026, at Bluff View Estates in Winona.

Joan was born on September 13, 1942, in Winona, MN, the daughter of Susan (Sturm) Burbach. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gordon Schacht, on July 28, 1962. Joan was a test operator for Benchmark Electronics. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching the Hallmark channel, and making the occasional trip to Treasure Island. She loved walking, camping, and bowling.

She is survived by her three children: Tami (Tim) Comstock of Rosemount, MN, Steve (Emily) of Grand Rapids, MI, and Patty Schacht (Steve Samuelson) of Minnesota City, MN; five grandchildren: Jordan, Ryan, and Alex Stephan, Erik Schacht, and Jordon Johnson; brother, Norman Burbach; and many nieces and nephews.

Joan is preceded in death by her mother, Susan; and husband, Gordon.

Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona at a later date.
