Joan Marie Mueller

Joan Marie Mueller passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026.

Joan was born on September 19, 1943, in Winona, MN, to Frank and Dorothy (Yahnke) Konkel. She had a special and close relationship with her twin sister, Joyce. Joan enjoyed spending her days gambling and shopping and never missed an opportunity for a garage sale throughout her younger years.

Her crafty nature shone through in her hobbies, where she crocheted beautiful afghans and sewed quilts. Joan also found delight in solving puzzles and reading books.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Garth) Nahrgang, Kary (Dave) Schansberg, and Kathy (Michael) Gibbs; grandchildren, John (Hailey) Nahrgang, Casey (Anna Theel) Nahrgang, Olivia Schansberg, Elijah Schansberg, and Isabella Schansberg; great grandchildren, Eloise and Oliver; brothers, Ken (Mary) Konkel, Roger (Mary) Konkel, Paul Konkel; sisters, Carol (Ken) Johnson, and Judy Maldonado.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy; twin sister, Joyce; brother, David; sister, Barbara, and sister-in-law, Bonnie.

Joan’s family would like to express a special ‘thank you’ to Winona Area Hospice and Sauer Health Care for the wonderful care of Joan.

A private family burial will be held in honor of Joan.

Hoff Celebration of Life Center is assisting the family.
