Jesse House

St. Charles,     Jesse E. House, 76, of St. Charles died Friday morning August 8, 2003 at his home. Jesse was born May 5, 1927 to William and Anna (Markwardt) House on the family farm in St. Charles Township. He was confirmed July 16, 1939 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Jesse attended District 59 Country School. He farmed with his parents, while they were living, and with his brother Francis. Jesse loved horses and had been a member of the Whitewater Riders. He also enjoyed thrashing grain at the Mabel Steam Engine Days and also enjoyed riding motorcycle. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and St. Charles Moose Lodge.Survivors include one brother Francis of St. Charles, three sisters, Evelyn Weilbacher of Carpentersville, IL; Ruby Rohloff of LeSeur; and Lucille Kurtz of Citra. FL and 15 nieces and nephews. His parents and two sisters Vernice Anderson and Dolores Koenig preceded him in death.Funeral Services will be 11 AM Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Monday at Hoff Funeral Home’s – St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
