James Kiekbusch

James "Jim" Paul Kiekbusch, age 77, of Winona, MN, passed peacefully on the morning of September 24th with family present at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI

Jim was born on February 19, 1948, in Winona, Minnesota, to Donald and Lucille (Rengstorf) Kiekbusch. He grew up in Winona, where he graduated from Winona Senior High School. He then went on to attend the Milwaukee School of Engineering, earning his bachelor’s degree. After graduating from MSOE, he built a long and successful career in electrical engineering. With a passion for his work, Jim founded Omni Engineering, which he proudly owned and operated for more than 30 years.

Jim loved both work and adventure, and his travels took him across the country and beyond. He cherished time spent with family and friends, always ready to join in when there was fun to be had. He enjoyed long drives, being outdoors, boating on the river, and casting a line. A devoted baseball fan, Jim rarely missed a chance to catch a Twins game. He was also a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

Above all, Jim will be remembered for his humorous energy and his love of life. He will be deeply missed—not only by his family and friends, but also by his loyal companion, his beloved dog Earl.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Lee; children: Stephanie (Eryn) Dressler, Jeanette (Justin) Shea, Matthew (Chelsie) Kiekbusch; Step-sons: Brice Woolston, Kevin Krause (Manuel), Joe (Chelsea) Drazkowski, and Tim Drazkowski; grandchildren: Mason, Marek, Charlotte, Jimmy, and Elliott; and his sister, Marcia (Wayne) Hilgendorf along with many relatives and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Jeremy Woolston.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sobieski Park Lodge in Winona
