James Gallas

James (Jim) Gallas, 81, of Milwaukee, WI passed away March 30, 2022. Jim was born October 12, 1940 to Edmund and Catherine (Beck) Gallas. On July15, 1967 Jim married JoAnn Benishek in Winona, MN. Together they raised their two daughters in Milwaukee, WI.

All his life, Jim loved the great outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, grilling, deer camp, riding ATVs and snowmobiling, were some of his favorites. Jim's meatloaf and applesauce pork chops recipes will be passed on for generations! While indoors, he enjoyed the Packers, Badgers, Bucks, and Brewers. A family gathering for a Packer Super Bowl or Badger Rose Bowl was always a highlight.

Jim is survived by his children Jen (Joe) Lower of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Jessica (Marcus) Burnham of Winona, MN; his four grandchildren, Kate, Lexi, Gigi and Tyton; brother, Bob (Gloria) Gallas. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn, (2011) and his parents.

The Gallas family would like to thank Mayo Clinic for their exceptional attention in caring for Jim.

A private celebration of Jim's life will be held in the summer.
