Irene McGuire

Rochester, MN     Irene Ruth McGuire, 87, died Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at her home in Rochester, MN. Irene was born September 22, 1915 in Elba, MN to Irvin and Lillian (Eggers) Loppnow. On February 4, 1937 she married Elmer McGuire in Plainview, MN. He later died October 24, 1968. Irene lived in Elba, Lake City and Rochester during her life. In Rochester she worked for Kresges and retired from K-Mart in 1977. Irene enjoyed dancing, traveling and working in her garden. Survivors include two children, Ralph (Carmen) McGuire and Connie (Joel) Skauge both of Rochester, MN; 5 grandchildren; 5 great – grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and sister, Violet (Russell) Zenk of Elgin, MN. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer and sister, Shirley.Funeral services are planned for 11 AM Saturday, August 23, 2003 at Hoff Funeral Homes – St. Charles Chapel in St. Charles, MN with Dr. Mark Wilms, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
