Lewiston,Irene Hulda Rislow, 86, of Lewiston died Sunday July 27, 2008 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital. Irene was born September 15, 1921 in Warren Township of Winona County to Frank and Esther (Fahrendholz) Renk. She and Bernard E. Rislow were married on April 12, 1947 at North Prairie. The couple made their home in Lewiston where they operated the Standard Oil Agency. She had also worked for Rush Products and Camera Art of Lewiston. Irene was a 56 year member of the American Legion Post #90 Auxiliary, where she had served for years as Auxiliary treasurer. She also belonged to St. Paul's UCC/ELCA Church. Irene enjoyed spending time with her friends at Polka dances, collecting dolls and baking. However her greatest joy was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Survivors include three children, Jack (Dianne) Rislow of Lewiston, Roger (Diane) Rislow of Lewiston and Barbara (Larry) Overland of Rushford, six grandchildren; Carrie Rislow (Tony Mahto), Christin (Greg) Hale, Brian Rislow, Amber (Zac) Harder, Lindsey (Jake) Ruhland and Brandon Rislow, two great-grandchildren Gabi and Emma Hale, a brother Earl Renk of Winona and a sister Ruth Raaen of Prior Lake, MN. Her husband Bernard "Stub" Rislow and a special friend Fred Brandhorst preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be 11AM Thursday at St. Paul's UCC/ ELCA Church in Lewiston with Rev. Peter Huggenvik officiating. Burial will follow in Lewiston Public Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Paul's Church from 4-8 PM Wednesday and one hour before services Thursday.
