IdaMae Bacon

IdaMae Inez Bacon, 84 of Winona, died Monday, October 31, 2022 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

IdaMae was born May 4, 1938, in Friendship, WI to Raymond and LelahMae (Runnels) Williams.  She graduated from Adams Friendship High School.  On September 28, 1956 she married Edgar Kent Bacon.  Throughout the years, they lived in Friendship, Green Bay and Milwaukee before moving to the Rushford and Winona area in 1978.  IdaMae worked various jobs throughout the years including at Lake Center Industries, Riverside Electronics and Semcac Senior Dining where she really found her niche in service to others.  She was currently a member of Calvary Baptist church in Winona.

IdaMae’s focus in life was on her family, her church and serving others.  She was the most loving, positive, non-judgmental, and faithful person one could have on their side.  She was also an avid softball player and bowler for many years and when she could no longer do those activities, she became the biggest sports fan. 

She is survived by her children, Tim (Rhoda) Bacon, Aaron (Sharon) Bacon, Kelvin (Kim) Bacon and Angela (Peter) Bacon-Burke; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Lois Williams; brother-in-law, Eddie (Marilyn) Burdick; sister-in-law, Janis Rhinehart; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Joann Bacon and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent in 2018; grandson, Moses Ragan; two great-grandchildren, Jessalynn Hermann and Kellen Bacon; her parents; and two brothers, Harold and Edwin “Chief” Williams;

Funeral Service will be 4 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview with the Reverend Adam Burge officiating.  Visitation will be 3 p.m., until the time of the service.  She will be laid to rest at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Preston in a private family service.  Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview is assisting the family with arrangements.  www.hofffuneral.com.
