Herbert Gensmer

Rollingstone,     Herbert Gensmer, 89, of Rt. 1 Rollingstone died Tuesday March 11, 2003 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.     He was born January 5, 1914 in Norton Township of Winona County to Ferdinand and Anna (Luehmann) Gensmer. He and Meta Dorn were married June 14, 1939 at Silo. They farmed their entire married lives in Norton Township.     Herb was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at Norton where he held various church offices over the years. He enjoyed playing cards. Meta died December 19, 1994. Survivors include five daughters, Barbara (Dale) Meihak of Kasson; Rita (Rodney) Hansen of Utica; Dixie (Roy) Loken of Rollingstone; Lois (Larry) Pederson of Zumbrota; and Ruth Ann (Stephan) Cochrane of Rochester, 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Meta, a son Wayne, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.     Funeral Services will be 11AM Saturday at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Eckert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-9 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home’s – Lewiston Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
