Heidi Behrens

Heidi Behrens, 59, of St. Charles, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, after a courageous seven-year battle with brain cancer. Born on July 26, 1966, in Wabasha, MN, to Gust "Hunce" and Gerene (Brandenburg) Wehinger, Heidi's life was a testament to resilience, love, and the beauty of everyday moments.

Graduating from Wabasha-Kellogg High School in 1984, Heidi pursued her passion for numbers by studying Accounting at Riverland Technical College. She dedicated many years to her role as the assistant Credit Manager at First Supply in La Crosse, WI, a position she cherished deeply. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by the love she held for her husband, Chuck Behrens, whom she married on December 30, 1989, in Rochester, MN. Together, they created a life rich in memories, laughter, and unwavering support.

Heidi was known for her infectious smile and warm morning greetings, which brightened the days of those around her. She had a zest for life that drew her to activities such as reading, spending Saturdays with Chuck, and sharing joyful afternoons playing bingo with her friends. Her adventurous spirit often led her to Treasure Island Casino and the peaceful serenity of fishing.

Heidi's bond with her aunt Louise was profound; she often described Louise as a mother figure, providing guidance, support, and unconditional love throughout her life. Louise and Uncle Hank nurtured Heidi with deep care, shaping her into the compassionate and loving person she became.

Heidi will be profoundly missed for the cherished memories she created and the genuine connections she fostered. Her departure leaves a void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Chuck Behrens; children, Chris (DaNae), Angie (Chris), Jason (Eva), Charlie (Amber); 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; half-sisters, Carrie Anway, Holly Sayer; half-brothers, Gary Passe, Kevin Passe; aunt, Louise Haley; and uncle, Hank.

Heidi is preceded in death by her parents; baby sister, Michalle; and half-brother, Robin (Betty) Passe.

No funeral services will be held at this time per Heidi's wishes.
