Glennys Worden

Dec 8, 1951 — May 27, 2026

Chatfield

Glennys Rae Worden, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 27, 2026. Glennys was born on December 8, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Delos and Mary Overton. The third of eleven children, she spent her early years in Helena, Arkansas, before moving with her family to southeast Minnesota in 1960.

In the fall of 1965, her family settled in the Chatfield area, where she met the love of her life, Robert Lee Worden. Glennys and Bob were united in marriage on October 18, 1969. Together, they began farming and built a life rooted in faith, love and hard work while raising their six children and sharing more than fifty years of marriage together.

Glennys was a wonderful homemaker whose creativity touched nearly every part of her life. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafts, baking, cooking, sewing, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Music was a constant joy in her life—she especially loved the Beatles and Elvis, and their songs were often part of the rhythm of her home. She devoted many hours to creating costumes for 4-H plays and also did prom and wedding dress alterations, taking great pride in making special moments even more meaningful. She took joy in making things beautiful and welcoming for her family and others. Glennys cherished the many friendships she made with customers at her store, “Just So,” a cozy shop filled with antiques, handmade treasures, and the sewing and alteration work she was so talented at.

Above all else, Glennys found her greatest joy in her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Tami Overton, Wasilla, AK; Tabitha (Steve) Spande, Warsaw, IN; Tina (Doug) Suhr, Kasson, MN; Jerry (Janine) Worden, Chatfield, MN; Jason (Alesha) Worden, Chatfield, MN; and Teresa (Jesse) Powell, Chatfield, MN.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Brenden (Rachel) Worden; Sierra (Alli) Diller; Kayla (Ben) Wildman; Gabrielle (Tay) Suhr; Zachary (Julianna) Spande; Brianna Gronvold-Powell; Jasmine Donaldson; Alexis (Hunter) Worden; Henry Worden; Leland Powell; Charles Worden; and Joseph Worden. And 4 great-grandchildren: Savannah Worden; Rain Worden; Oliver Wildman; and Dawson Worden.

Siblings include Kenny (Diane) Overton; Kerryn (Jim) Brogan; Robyn Overton; Lyssa Overton; Ricky Overton; Kevin Overton; Kim Overton; Craig Overton; Amanda Overton; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved Granddaddy and Grandmother, Ray and Margaret Pounds; her parents, Delos and Mary Overton; her father- and mother-in-law, Elmer and Marie Worden; her baby sister, Jennifer Overton; and her granddaughter, Brook Suhr.
