Glen Leary, 78, of Winona passed away on February 22, 2024. He was born on October 2, 1945 in Caledonia, Minnesota, the son of Bill and Faith (Hanson) Leary. Growing up, Glen attended Loretto School where he participated in boxing, and later pursued vocational training in welding. After graduating, he served in the Navy from 1963 to 1966.
On June 3, 1967, Glen married his love, Jeanette Gavin, in Caledonia. The couple shared a special bond growing up on nearby farms and settled in Winona, Minnesota, where Glen embarked on a long career at Lackore Electric. Over the span of more than 40 years, Glen dedicated himself to his work and the community. His commitment also extended to volunteering, as he proudly served as a firefighter with the Goodview Fire Department and was a member of the VFW.
Outside of work, Glen found joy in bird watching, biking, hiking, and attending draft horse shows.
Glen is survived by his wife, Jeanette; children, Dan (Shandra) Leary, Alan (Kate) Leary; grandchildren, Shaun, Ali, Zach, and Cassie Leary; siblings, Richard (Mary) Leary, Linda Miller, Dorrie Besse, Colleen (Jeff) Schuldt, Jean (Toby) Burrichter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Faith Leary.
