Glen Koneczny

September 14, 1956 — May 22, 2023

Houston

Glen Koneczny is now home, where he longed to be, standing in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Glen Koneczny, 66, of Houston, MN and formerly of St. Paul, MN died after a long battle with liver disease on Monday, May 22, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. Glen Thomas Koneczny was born on Friday, September 14, 1956, in St. Paul, MN to Bernard and Geraldine (Stark) Koneczny. He was raised on the east side of St. Paul where, in 1974, he graduated from St. Paul Johnson High School. Glen loved growing up there and playing on the hockey team. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed for a time in Germany. Glen spent his career working in the electrical product distribution business. He worked at what was Barber Electric and later Dakota Supply Group in St. Paul. Glen was united in marriage with Cindi Chester in August of 1989. Glen raised his family on the east side of St. Paul. He and Cindi moved to Houston, MN in April of 2022, to be closer to grandchildren. Glen was a perfectionist in all that he took great interest in. In his spare-time he enjoyed fishing in the Boundary Waters, golfing, taking care of his yard, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Glen is survived by his wife, Cindi; four children: Nickolas Koneczny, Jeni Koneczny, Hannah (Craig) Ernst, and Seth (Birdie) Koneczny; eight grandchildren: Serenity, Phoenix, Chloe, Maximus, Silas, Tobiah, Thomas, and Hudson; three siblings: Dan (Linda) Koneczny, Colleen Wandmacher and Barry Koneczny; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. In Lieu of flowers, on behalf of Glen, the family would like memorials directed to Olive Tree Ministries. (https://olivetreeviews.org/donate/). A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at Rockpoint Church in Lake Elmo, MN on June 24th, visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
