Eugene “John” Armon Burt, 77 of Stockton, died Wednesday, May 1, 2025 at his son’s home.

John was born May 9, 1947 in Winona to Clayton and Ethel (Strong) Burt. On June 14th, 1969 he married Lynda Leger. John served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal.

Throughout the years, he worked at various places including, United Packaging of Peterson, TRW of Rushford and KB Poultry/Hilltop Poultry of Utica.

John enjoyed racing, camping, fishing, casino trips, hunting, playing pool, darts, bowling, weekend get togethers with friends and family, Sunday football and racing at the bar. He was also a talented mechanic and enjoyed tinkering.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda of Winona; one son, Eugene (Kristie) of Stockton; three daughters, Shannon Burt, Brandi (Bob) Cogley and Amber Burt, all of Lewiston; two grandsons, Tre (Emily) Klungvedt of La Crosse and Mileek Burt of Stockton; five granddaughters, Ellen Johnson of Houston, Shaylah Burt of Altura, McKylah Burt of Stockton, Tiesha Burt of Trempealeau, WI and Cheyanne Cogley of Lewiston; four great-grandsons, Adyn, Zander, Ryder and Weston; 6 great-granddaughters, Becca, Adaline, JoAnna, Serenity, Alex, and Ellis; one sister, Vivian Aslakson of Missouri; one brother, Ronald (Connie) Burt of Winona and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clayton “Butch” Burt and Rick Burt; sisters, Darlene Hook, Barbara Jean (infant) and Shirley Ehlenfeldt; sister-in-law, Kitty Burt; brother-in-laws, Arlan Aslakson and Noel Ehlenfeldt; granddaughter, Tasha Hanson; grandson, Skylor Hanson and a niece, Candi (Aslakson) Hagler.

A Celebration of John’s life will 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 9 at the green lodge at Farmers Park.
