Ervin Lavern Davidson, 89, of Chatfield, died on July 19, 2026 at his home. He was born in Orion township, Chatfield, MN to Samuel and Sarah (Gipes) Davidson on June 13, 1937. He was the youngest of 10 children and attended country school in Cumingsville District then Chatfield Public School.
On July 3, 1956 he married Mary Sparrow. He worked as a farm hand, garbage route for Lloyd Greenlee, Nelson Tire Town recapping tires, The Zumbro Hotel for many years, and drove school bus for 53 years for the Bernard family, as well as farming. He started the Orion Township hog roast when they put up a new building. He was the Orion township road grader for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Donald (Kelly) of Wykoff; daughters, Pam Bluhm of Chatfield, Debra Smith, Nancy (Len) Klein of Akron, OH; daughter-in-law, Laurie Davidson; along with 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Ervin is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Larry and Richard; siblings, Lloyd, Vivian, Loretta, Iva, Doleres, Robert, Darrell, Loren, and Roland.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 9am to 11am at Joy Ridge in Chatfield, MN. Funeral service will begin at 11am following the visitation with Paster Peter Haugen officiating. Ervin will be laid to rest at Sumner Presbyterian Cemetery in rural Chatfield.
