Elaine Ball

Elaine Anne Ball, 79 of Winona, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Sugar Loaf Senior Living.

Elaine was born January 16, 1946 in St. Paul to Eleanor Skaar. Following her high school graduation she attended Austin Community College and graduated with her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. Through her time in Austin, she met Thomas Ball and they were married. They had two children and later divorced. Elaine later moved to Winona where she met her life partner, Laverne Fritz and they shared many wonderful years together.

Elaine was a very beloved long term care nurse at both Commonwealth in St. Paul and St. Anne’s in Winona. She was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Elaine enjoyed crafting, gardening, baking, farming, kids and animals.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Arnold) Davis and Scott (Lisa) Ball; grandchildren, Gabby Smith, Justin Borzyskowski, Faith Borzyskowski, Josiah Ball and Issac Ball; great-grandchildren, Mason Huebner, McKenna Huebner, Carter Borzyskowski, Addison Mueller, Myles Waldorf, Reina Borzykowski and Greyson Kent; her partner, Laverne Fritz; and a few that were like family to her, Mary Jane & Irvin Bigelbach and Pam & Mike Haar.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Memorial Service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center – Goodview. Visitation will be 2 p.m., until the time of the service. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
