MONEY CREEK, MINN. – Earl. G. Johnson, 89, of Money Creek died Monday, November 25, 2002, at the Winona Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, Minn. Earl was born on June 24, 1913, at the family farm in Money Creek to Albert and Ida (Unnasch) Johnson. Earl graduated from Winona Senior High School. On January 16, 1937, Earl married Evelyn Thompson at the Thompson home on Vinegar Hill. He lived all of his life on the family farm in Money Creek until moving to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford this past April. Earl was a dairy farmer who loved his farm. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a lifelong member of the Money Creek United Methodist Church where he was on the church board and sang with the church quartet for many funerals. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three sons: Lowell (Donna) Johnson of DeWitt, Iowa, James (Joan) Johnson of Winona, Minn. and Steven (Lynne) Johnson of Viroqua, Wis.; two daughters: Eline (Arthur) Kleist of Rushford, Minn. and Carla Johnson of St. Paul, Minn.; 12 grandchildren: Brent, Brad, Thomas, Paul, Michelle, Rebecca, John, Danial, Vicki, Ruby, Thomas, and Stacey; 13 great grandchildren; and one brother, Sidney (Alice) Johnson of Galesville, Wis. He was preceded in death by one daughter, JoAnne, three grandchildren, one sister, and one brother. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, at the Money Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Fauntie Wolcoxon officiating. Burial will be at the Money Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
