Douglas Johnson, 57 of Dover, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Doug was born May 25, 1966 in Decorah, IA to Wayne and Neilene (Machlan) Johnson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Mona Lutheran Church.  Doug or “Yumbo” as he was often referred to, graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1984 where he played football, wrestled and played the Tuba.  He then attended Riverland Community College in Austin for welding for two years.  Throughout the years, he worked as a welder for Ackerman’s by Brownsdale, New Prague at MVE, Schoenfelders, Chart in Owatonna and EZ Fab in Chatfield.  On April 25, 1998, he married Rochelle Coulson at Mona Lutheran Church.

Doug loved riding motorcycles and going on vacations with friends and family.  Time spent on the Johnson Family farm and at the cabin, were times he truly treasured.  His three kids, William, Elle and Katie meant the world to him as well as his ability of welding.  He loved being creative and showing off his latest projects.

He will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Rochelle; children, William, Katie and Elle Johnson; step-daughter, Katie (Mike) Ochs and their children, Maci, Mason and Austin; his parents, Wayne and Neilene; sister, Dawn (Dave) Knapp; parents-in-law, Gerry & Wilma Coulson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris Coulson, Cat (Jeff) Rigdon, Britt (Jennie) Coulson and Bridget (Beau) Hanenberger; nieces and nephews, Brady (Bridget) Johnson and their son, Beckham, MaKaylee McDermott, Devin & Buster Meyer; Rachel & Rebecca Rigdon, Kegen Coulson, and Jazzlyn Hanenberger; and his Godchildren, LeRoy, Tracy and MaKaylee.
