Donald G. Hanson, age 65, of Winona, MN, passed away unexpectedly on April 16th, at his home.
He was born on January 8, 1955 in Winona, MN to Richard and Margaret Hanson (Skriepietz).
Don will be remembered for his love of music. He was a talented self-taught musician and played pedal steel guitar throughout his life with various bands in the area. He enjoyed the company of friends and family, especially his faithful companion Sammy, the pit
bull. He also celebrated 27 years of sobriety and was active in the recovery community.
Don is survived by his daughter, Trista (John) Hain, Rochester, MN; grandchildren: Riley, Madelyn and Hayden, sister Beverly Vogt, Battle Creek, MI, many nieces and nephews, and dear friend Cindy Hanson, Wheaton, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret, and beloved brother Doyle.
A celebration in honor of Don's life will be held at a future date.
