Diane Grover

May 14, 1939 — September 16, 2023

Rushford, MN

Diane Jane (Anderson) Grover, age 84, of Rushford, MN, died Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.

Diane was born May 14, 1939, in Rushford, the daughter of Russel and Thelma (Barnewitz) Anderson. She graduated from Rushford High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Grover March 15, 1958, in Peterson, MN. Diane worked for many years at Rush Products, but she was most proud of her role as homemaker. She and Jerry raised their family in Rushford. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing dresses and quilts for her loved ones. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and watching the birds. Diane was an avid reader, a hobby she passed down to her children as well. She enjoyed watching westerns, and listening to blue grass and country music. Diane could be quite adventurous at times, including going horseback riding and hopping on a motorcycle with Jerry and son, Bill. She was willing to try anything and would take on any challenge, despite her disability. Diane was known for being an optimist and always having encouraging words to share. She was not one to complain, even if there was cause, and she would always minimize any struggle or discomfort she had. More than anything, Diane loved her family. She enjoyed the annual Anderson family camp out, and any time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. Diane loved to dance, and toward the end of her life she expressed her excitement to finally be able to dance again. Diane was so loved, and she will be missed by all who know she is finally dancing again.

Diane is survived by her children: Joan (Burt) Benson of Chanhassen, MN, Barb Cwikla of Menomonee Falls, WI, Karen (Lance Holzer) Grover of Winona, MN, and Bill (Judi) Grover of Rushford; grandchildren: Cami (Aaron), Troy, Trevor (Amanda), Ryan, Kellie, Sam, Meredith, Tristan (Abby), and Albina (Nate); great-grandchildren: Sophia, Tavius, Corbin, Ava, Jackson, Isaac, Vera, Henry, Noel, and Trevor Jr.; step-great-grandchildren: Hazel and Emmett; 1 great-grandchild and 1 great-great grandchild on the way; siblings: twin sister Doris Lanning of Plainview, MN, Luanne Ronnenberg of Rushford, Lois Rasmussen of Rushford, Nancy (Roger) Hoff of Pine City, MN, Beverly Baker of Monroe, WI, and Paul (Faith) Anderson of Rushford; brother-in-law Don (Verna) Grover of Taylors Falls, MN, and sister-in-law Elaine (Chuck) Eidenschink of Rushford; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; brothers, Richard, and Lyle; sister-in-law, Shirley Anderson, and brothers-in-law, Roger Ronnenberg, and Ferman Lanning; grandson, Trent, and 2 infant granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 11 AM at Rushford Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Steve Chellew. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.
